The NWT portion of the range includes all ecoregions where Gray-headed Chickadee was designated as \"occasional\" or \"presence expected\"in the ecoregion-based range mapping (EBAR)available in the Biodiversity Species Distribution layer (GNWT ENR 2014) on the NWT Species and Habitat Viewer; the EBAR is based on Level IVecoregions in the NWT Ecological Land Classification, The rest of the continental range (outside the NWT, North America only) follows the range obtained from BirdLife International on November 28, 2025 (BirdLife International and Handbook of the Birds of the World [2025]Bird species distribution maps of the world. Version 2025.2. Available at http://datazone.birdlife.org/species/requestdis). Some minor smoothing was done to connect the two portions of the range at the NWT-Yukon border.",
