These areas neithermeet the IUCN criteria for a protected area according to national and international guidelines nordoes the legislation pertaining to them providesufficient surface or subsurface protection.Note 3 \u2013 The Status Network field distinguishes betweenprotected areas andconservation areas. Note 4 \u2013 This feature class excludes \u2018Conservation Zones\u2019 in approved Land Use Plans (LUP).
