<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN><SPAN>Mineral Lease means a lease of a recorded claim acquired in the manner prescribed by the Northwest Territories </SPAN></SPAN><SPAN STYLE="font-style:italic;"><SPAN>Mining Regulations.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P><SPAN><SPAN>A mineral lease is a lease of a recorded claim situated on Territorial/Commissioner’s Land that has been granted to the holder of the claim pursuant to Section 60 of the </SPAN></SPAN><SPAN STYLE="font-style:italic;"><SPAN>Mining Regulations</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>. A mineral lease can be applied for after the claim holder has done at least $25.00 per hectare of work in the claim area. A mineral lease is required for disposal or sale of minerals or ore with a gross value of more than $100 000 in one year. A survey of the claim must be recorded with the Mining Recorder’s Office before a lease can be granted under the Northwest Territories </SPAN></SPAN><SPAN STYLE="font-style:italic;"><SPAN>Mining Regulations</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>. Surveys are carried out by Certified Land Surveyors under the general instructions of the Surveyor General. </SPAN></SPAN></P><P><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">Attribute Definitions:</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Lease Number: The Sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated by the Mineral Information Tenure System (MITS) database and preceded by “NT-”. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Owner(s): The name(s) of the owner(s) and the percentage of the ownership in ().</SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Status: The current status of the Lease (Pending, Active, Cancelled etc.)</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Annual Rent: The rent per annum is $2.50 per hectare for the first 21 years and $5.00 per hectare for the subsequent 21 year renewals of the lease.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Issue Date: The issue date is the date is the same as Commencement Date.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Commencement Date: The date when the lease takes effect which is the day after the anniversary date of the claim. </SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Signed Date: The date when a lease is signed on behalf of the Minister. </SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Rent Due Date: The date when the rent is next due. Interest will be calculated if the rent is paid after this date.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Term Expiry Date: The date when the term of the lease expires. The term is 21 years.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Cancellation Date: The date when the lease was cancelled. </SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Term: The count of which term the lease is currently on i.e. 1</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>st</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>21 year term is 1; 2</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>nd</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>21 year term is 2.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Renewal Count: The count of how many times the lease has been/was renewed.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Lease Area Hectares: The surveyed area of the claim.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Mapsheets: The physical location of the lease in the National Topographic System (NTS).</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>District: NWT</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Land Claim Area: The physical location of the lease as per the Land Claim Agreements and IMA’s (Interim Measures Agreements) Areas for consultation purposes.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Crown Hectares: Portion of a lease that is situated on Commissioners/Territorial Lands.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Crown Rent: Portion of the rent associated with the area of lease that is situated on Commissioners/Territorial Lands.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Land Claim Hectares: Portion of a lease that is situated on Titled Lands pursuant to a Final Land Claim Agreement.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>Land Claim Rent: Portion of the rent associated with the area of lease that is situated on Titled Lands pursuant to a Final Land Claim Agreement.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;"><SPAN>Date of last update</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN><SPAN>: this data is updated daily.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P><SPAN /><SPAN /></P></DIV></DIV></DIV> |
